However this year is your chance to do just that as a visitor at the 19th Laura Aboriginal Dance Festival.
The Laura Aboriginal Dance Festival is an exciting biennial gathering, highlighting the many diverse Communities, language, song, dance, art and stories of the people of Cape York. The Festival is about passing on culture across the generations, along with showcasing the strength, pride and uniqueness of Aboriginal people. The Festival allows the audience to experience the story telling and history of Aboriginal culture and gives us all a vital opportunity to come together to respect, share and celebrate our unity as a nation.
Over 5,000 people travel to Laura from across Australia to enjoy this Festival for three days; over 20 Communities participate across the region, with up to 500 traditional performers participating in the program.
The early bird gets the worm…early bird prices are Adult - $70.00 / Concession (Government Benefit Card & Senior Card Holder) - $64.00 /Children Under 16 Years Free of Charge – until 31st May. Prices after 1st June are Adult - $85.00/ Concession (Govt Benefit Card & Senior Card Holder) - $80.00/ Children Under 16 Years Free of Charge. Ticket prices include your camping fee camping gear and head to Laura for an amazing 3 days.
