Bloomfield Lodge offers another option for Anglers

Bloomfield Lodge, located on the edge of the World Heritage listed Daintree Rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef, would like to announce the addition of a purpose built sport fishing vessel to its fleet, the Weary Bay Bandit.

This vessel is a 4.8m polycraft, powered by a 75 horsepower E-Tech low-emission engine and has been custom fit to best utilise the local fishing opportunities in the Bloomfield River and on the local reef systems. Equipped with a spacious casting deck, electric trolling motor and quality electronics, the Bandit offers a safe and functional fishing platform whatever your preferred fishing technique.

Fishing locations are dependant on prevailing tidal and weather conditions and include casting and trolling lures within the river system for species such as Mangrove Jack and Barramundi; bottom bouncing reefs for Coral Trout and Nannygai and trolling or casting lures for pelagic such as Trevally and Mackerel. Fishing equipment is available for use from the Lodge and lures are provided on a replace if lost arrangement. Guests are welcome to bring their own equipment but are advised to be aware that transfers to the Lodge are by small plane and as such there are luggage weight and size restrictions.

Sport fishing tours are arranged on an hourly rate and passenger numbers are dependant on the style and location of the tour. The Weary Bay Bandit is the most recent addition to the fleet which includes the Bloomfield Explorer - a 10m power cat designed for touring, snorkelling and fishing the Great Barrier Reef in comfort.

Together with the river ferries, Bloomfield Lodge is well equipped to provide guests with a range of activities to enjoy the unique local waterways during their stay. Four night stay from $1,520pp including all meals, scenic flights from Cairns, private bus and boat transfers, guided rainforest walks and relaxing cruise on the Bloomfield River.
