Jetstar's new Auckland-Cairns route makes way for more Kiwis to enter the sunshine state
Jetstar's announcement that it will operate a new Auckland–Cairns route three times a week from 12 April 2011 is fantastic news for the Tropical North Queensland tourism industry. Jetstar’s new services will contribute more than 500 seats to the region’s international capacity from New Zealand each week. This represents a 47% increase in international seat capacity from New Zealand to Cairns.
